A Pilates mat class is a small group class that uses classical exercise on the mat to strengthen and tone the body’s core muscles. The class focuses on flexibility, balance, posture, and breathing control.
 
What to expect:
    • Core exercises: Planks, side planks, and other core exercises to build strength 
       
    • Controlled movements: Exercises that target specific muscle groups, with an emphasis on proper alignment and breathing 
       
  • Equipment: The instructor may provide bands, exercise balls, or small weights to help with the exercises 
     
        • Modifications: Exercises can be modified to increase or decrease the level of challenge
